Traditional Outfits Of India

India is country which is known for its cuture and tradition.Here we can see people from  various  religion who have different dressing style .Here I have discussed about few traditional outfits of Indians .

Langa oni:

Pavadai Dhavni is the traditional dress worn mainly in the states of TamilNadu,Kerala,Andhra pradesh and Karnataka.Pavadai Dhavni is also known as Langa oni or half saree.This is worn by young girls between the age of puberty and marriage.Small girls wear pavadai(skirt) and sattai(tops).Usually pavadai and oni are brightly colored and contrasting to each other .It is similar to sarees .The material used to stitch this dress is silk but nowdays materials like nylon and creb  are also used .
Mundum Neriyathum:

Mundum neriyathum is a traditional dress of women in kerala .It is also known as set saree or set mundu.This is a plain white cotton saree . These sarees have thick golden color  borders or zari borders. Young unmarried girls wear green coloured blouse, while married middle aged mothers wear red blouses .The veshti is another version of the saree which consists of a small upper clothing resembling a blouse-like garment worn without the pallu along with a mundu as lower garment.

Gagra Choli:
Gagra choli is the traditional dress of North India.It is nothing but a long shirt with the blouse and it has a chuniri .The skirt is also known as lehga which is decorated with zardosi work.Punjabis ,Muslims and North Indians wear this dress during their wedding.

Salwar Kameez :
Salwar Kameez is sometimes known as “Punjabi Suit”.Salwar Kameez is a traditional dress worn in South Asia.Salwar is nothing but loose pijama and Kameez is a  long shirt or tunic.When women wear salwar kamez they wear a long shawl around their neck.Earlier this garment was confined only to the north but as people feel more comfortable with this garment . It has become popular across the nation.

These are few traditional outfits of India. Though India has different religion and caste all are wounded together in a twine of unity.
